I was able to work with Dr. David Baker for his third visit to the Mobile Ed studios this year. He has a quiet disposition but is a deep well of Ancient Near Eastern knowledge. I was glad we had time for the podcast on top of recording two courses on the social and literary world of the Old Testament.

We talked at length about the process of archaeology, Ancient Near Eastern parallels to the Old Testament, and had some fun considering shooting an Indiana Jones style film for Mobile Ed. I hope you enjoy our conversation.

While Dr. Longman was in studio with one of my colleagues, I had the pleasure of interviewing him for our podcast. He is a prolific author, very well published, and extraordinarily knowledgeable about the Old Testament, particularly Wisdom Literature.

He’s one of the top Old Testament scholars alive today. Our discussion touched on his scholarship, his published works, and his work on the translation committee of the New Living Bible. Enjoy!
